For attendees

What to expect on the day

Talks on architecture, performance, UI, tooling and production stories, from the people building real applications with Avalonia.

When

Wednesday 9 December 2026

09:00–18:00 CET, with a one-hour lunch break at 13:45. All times are CET (UTC+1).

Where

Online, on an open live stream

The stream is open to everyone. Registered guests get the link by email, and it also goes up on this page before the day.

What’s on

A keynote, talks and a live Q&A

Each talk is 45 minutes including Q&A, and there are five minutes between sessions. The Avalonia team closes the day.

For speakers

We’re looking for talks built on real experience

Community slots are open. Propose a 45-minute talk, Q&A included, for the people who design, build and maintain applications with Avalonia. It’s online, so you present from wherever you are. First-time speakers are as welcome as experienced ones.

Topics we’re looking for

Architecture

MVVM, composition, navigation, modularity and the patterns that held up in production.

UI and product

Interface design, theming, accessibility and the details that make an app feel finished.

Performance

Startup, rendering, memory and profiling, with the measurements to back it up.

Cross-platform

Desktop, mobile and browser targets, packaging, deployment and CI/CD.

Migrations

What moving from WPF, Windows Forms or other frameworks actually took.

Ecosystem

Open-source libraries, tooling and practices that scale across teams.

Proposal tips for speakers

Bring a story from production. We’re looking for people to share what they built with Avalonia, what broke and what they’d do again.

What makes a strong proposal

Name a problem, the context it came up in, what you learned and the level the talk is pitched at. A specific story beats a broad survey: “Taking a 15-year-old WPF line-of-business app to macOS” tells us far more than “Migrating to Avalonia”.

Pitch it for 45 minutes

That’s long enough to show real code and real measurements, and short enough that the talk needs a clear point. Q&A is part of the 45 minutes, so leave room for questions.

AI has a place here too

LLM features in your apps, MCP servers that let agents work with an application, or an honest look at what coding agents can and can’t do when building and testing Avalonia apps. We care less about general introductions to AI than about what you built and what you learned.
