Position Overview
As a Project Manager at Avalonia UI, you will play a vital role in driving our engineering team’s efficiency and delivery. You’ll work closely with our CTO and lead developers to plan, coordinate, and execute our development roadmap, ensuring projects remain on track, deadlines are met, and communication flows seamlessly across the team. Your mission is to keep the day-to-day running smoothly so our developers can focus on what they do best: building great software.

Remote position within EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa)
Key Responsibilities
Own the delivery process for key engineering initiatives, from planning through to release
Work closely with the CTO to define priorities, scope, and realistic timelines for development work
Coordinate cross-functional work across design, development, and QA to keep everyone aligned
Run daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies
Track project progress, identify risks early, and proactively resolve blockers or scheduling issues
Ensure that communication within the team—and with stakeholders—is clear, timely, and structured
Maintain a high-level overview of team velocity, and help optimise workflows for sustainable pace
Document and share key updates with stakeholders, keeping progress visible and predictable
Support hiring, onboarding, and resource planning alongside the leadership team
Help cultivate a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Proven experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master in a software development environment
Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal), with a sharp eye for detail
Strong organisational and time management skills—you know how to keep a train running on time
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Notion, or similar
Confidence in working with technical teams—understanding the language and dynamics of developers
Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable working independently in a remote-first setup
Ability to balance urgency with thoughtfulness, and focus with flexibility
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in developer tooling, open-source, or the .NET ecosystem
Understanding of cross-platform application development workflows
Background in engineering or technical programme management
Familiarity with XAML-based UI frameworks (e.g., WPF, MAUI, Avalonia)
Exposure to distributed teams and asynchronous work cultures
