About Us

We're Avalonia UI, the company behind the innovative Avalonia and Avalonia XPF frameworks used by industry leaders like JetBrains, GitHub, and Unity Games. We're a passionate team on a mission to unleash developer potential by creating powerful UI frameworks and crafting seamless developer experiences. We provide solutions for creating rich, complex desktop, mobile, and web applications. Join us in making cross-platform .NET development accessible to everyone as part of our fast-growing startup. As a small company with big ambitions, we're investing heavily in the future of cross-platform UI technology and expanding our team.

We offer a competitive salary and a dynamic, fully remote work environment that fosters continuous learning and professional growth. While we do prioritise hiring within the EMEA region to ensure easier team collaboration, we value exceptional talent globally. We have team members worldwide, from the Philippines to Seattle, and the right candidate can make a great addition to the team regardless of location.

Position Overview

Avalonia UI is changing the way developers build cross-platform applications with .NET, and we’re looking for a Project Manager who can help us scale our impact. This isn’t a passive coordination role. You’ll be the operational backbone of our engineering team, bringing clarity to chaos, momentum to projects, and rhythm to how we ship. If you’re energised by turning strategy into execution and want to make a tangible difference in a fast-moving product organisation, this is your chance.

Working directly with our CTO and senior engineers, you’ll act as the operational nerve centre of the team, translating vision into structured execution, and ensuring that complex initiatives move forward with discipline and momentum. This isn’t just about removing blockers, it’s about owning the delivery engine. You’ll be responsible for making sure the right things happen, in the right order, at the right time. Through rigorous planning, smart prioritisation, and clear communication, you’ll create the conditions for high-performance work to flourish.

Location

Remote position within EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa)

What You’ll Own

You’ll be responsible for the orchestration of our engineering efforts. That includes:

  • Planning and delivery: Collaborate with leadership to define goals, translate them into executable plans, and ensure deadlines are realistic, respected, and clearly understood.

  • Team coordination: Keep design, engineering, QA, and leadership in sync, making sure dependencies are known, expectations are aligned, and nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Rhythm and rituals: Lead stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and project reviews with purpose and structure, but never process for process’s sake.

  • Visibility and communication: Maintain clear, concise, and consistent communication across the team. Proactively flag blockers, report progress, and make sure the right people know the right things at the right time.

  • Flow and focus: Help maintain a sustainable delivery pace by identifying bottlenecks, improving workflows, and making space for deep work.

What We’re Looking For

You’re a strong communicator, a systems thinker, and someone who thrives in a product-focused engineering environment. You bring structure without bureaucracy, urgency without panic, and clarity without fluff.

You should have:
  • Significant experience managing software development projects, ideally in fast-moving or remote-first teams

  • Deep familiarity with Agile practices and tools (GitHub, Linear, or equivalents)

  • Confidence working closely with technical stakeholders, you don’t need to code, but you do need to speak developer

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in English, with a knack for clarity and brevity

  • A bias for action, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to prioritise under uncertainty

Bonus Points For
  • A background in developer tooling, open-source communities, or .NET

  • Experience working with XAML-based frameworks (WPF, MAUI, Avalonia, etc.)

  • Familiarity with distributed teams and asynchronous work cultures

  • A technical background (e.g., former developer or technical PM)

What We Offer
  • Remote-first work environment with flexible hours

  • Opportunity to influence a growing open-source technology

  • Travel opportunities to select industry events and conferences

  • Collaborative team focused on building great developer experiences

  • Competitive compensation package

If you’re passionate about building great teams, driving successful delivery, and helping developers stay focused and effective, we’d love to hear from you.
