What we’re looking for

We're seeking a Developer Marketing Lead to own our marketing strategy and execution for a growing developer-focused product. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on marketing experience with a genuine understanding of developer workflows and pain points. You'll have the autonomy to shape our marketing approach while working closely with our product and engineering teams to ensure our message resonates with technical audiences. This role offers a unique opportunity to step into a leadership position and build out our developer marketing function, with direct access to senior leadership and the ability to make significant impact on our growth. While prior experience leading a team isn't required, you should be ready to grow into a leadership role and have a track record of successfully executing marketing initiatives that speak to technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement our developer marketing strategy, including content creation, campaign planning, and channel selection. Create compelling narratives that resonate with technical audiences while maintaining alignment with overall company positioning.
  • Build and nurture relationships with our developer community through various channels including GitHub discussions, social media, and technical events. Create opportunities for meaningful dialogue between our team and the developer community.
  • Define key metrics for developer marketing success, implement tracking systems, and use data to continuously improve our marketing efforts. Regular reporting on campaign performance and community growth.
  • Work closely with engineering, and sales teams to ensure marketing efforts align with product capabilities and business goals. Partner with these teams to create authentic, technically accurate marketing materials.
  • Provide the developer perspective in product marketing discussions, helping shape messaging, feature announcements, and product positioning to resonate with technical audiences.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in developer marketing, ideally within a software development or tech-focused company.
  • Proven experience in developer marketing, preferably within the software development or tech industry.
  • Strong understanding of B2B solution marketing, including positioning and messaging.
  • Experience in copywriting for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with ad management (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn, or similar platforms).
  • Understanding of developer communities and how to engage with them.
  • Experience with analytics tools to track and report campaign performance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem and its community.
  • Content creation skills, with the ability to produce basic marketing assets (e.g., blogs, graphics, presentations).
